LRG snaps up ‘tiny office’ but big patch NW agency
LRG has acquired another independent lettings agency as its expansion plans continue apace.
The latest acquisition is Easthams, based in Preston, Lancashire, which operates out of a tiny office in the city, but covers a large area including the Fylde Coast and South Ribble area.
Easthams was first established in 1984 by Sam Eastham, the father of the current owners, Matt and Ed Eastham, who will support the business during the transition into the LRG stable.
All the staff and the office will be retained under the deal, and the brand will be maintained as well.
All corners
LRG (formerly Leaders Romans Group) says the inclusion of Easthams in its portfolio of estate agency brands forms part of its strategy to move into all corners of England and Wales.
In April, the group announced the acquisition of one the UK’s longest-standing agency names, Chancellors.
Chancellors has 50 branches across West London, six English counties and several parts of mid-Wales, employing some 450 staff.
And the purchase of Chancellors followed a series of others last year.
The acquisition of Easthams is a prime example of LRG’s successful regional strategy.”
Matthew Light, Group Mergers and Acquisitions Director at LRG, says: “LRG is very pleased to welcome the new team in Preston, recognising their valuable industry expertise and local knowledge.
“The acquisition of Easthams is a prime example of LRG’s successful regional strategy: to focus on acquiring top-performing regional agencies with strong local reputations,” he says.
“Easthams fits this profile perfectly, adding to our existing North West presence, strengthening our market share and expanding our geographic reach further.”
